Services Offered At JourneyPure Louisville

  • Dual Diagnosis Therapy

Dual diagnosis is a clinical term referring a mental health disorder coupled with a chemical dependency or substance abuse problem. It is also referred to as a co-occurring disorder, as both disorders occur simultaneously. The disorders must be treated together, since both are intertwined and affect each other.

If you or someone you love struggles with addiction and may have a mental health concern, JourneyPure Louisville offers dual diagnosis treatment and comprehensive care that addresses both issues.

  • Depression Therapy

Also known as a major depressive disorder or clinical depression, depression causes symptoms that affect how one feels, thinks, and copes with everyday life. Eating, sleeping, working, social interaction—all aspects of life can be affected by depression. Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders in the U.S.

The latest research on depression suggests that it is caused by a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors. Its risk factors include a family history of depression, major life changes like trauma, illness, or stress, and some types of physical illnesses and medications.

  • Individual Therapy

Despite the long-reaching effects that it has, addiction is a very personal disease. Someone who is abusing substances like prescription painkillers or alcohol is likely doing so because he or she is dealing with something that is not surface-level.

The vast majority of people who are addicted to dangerous substances tend to grapple with a history of physical, psychological, or emotional pain, distress, or hurt. In an effort to make the negative feelings that erupted due to this pain go away, many people turn to the use of addictive substances just to obtain some form of relief. And, the longer that an individual uses substances to cope with their distress, the more likely he or she is to develop an addiction that could ultimately cost them their lives.

  • PTSD Therapy

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can happen to anyone. A number of factors can increase the chance that someone will have PTSD, many of which are not under that person’s control.

What can be controlled is how a person addresses his or her PTSD. A comprehensive mental health treatment may be necessary. JourneyPure Louisville can help.

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mood disorder derived from a traumatic event in someone’s life. These events, which are often violent or sexual assaults, military combat, childhood abuse or natural disasters, can bring about tremendous anxiety and stress for the individual. They often experience terrifying nightmares and flashbacks. It can also cause aggressive behavior, intense and angry outbursts and avoidance of anything related to the traumatic event.

The IOP: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9am – noon and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6pm – 9pm

Family program: Wednesday 3:30pm – 4:45pm

The treatment offered at JourneyPure Louisville is designed to extend the 30- and 60-day treatments offered at residential treatment facilities located elsewhere in Kentucky. We believe that the strength and personalization of treatment directly impacts our clients’ long-term success.

We provide an additional level of Outpatient Treatment (OP) that is even less structured and can involve both group and individual therapy programming. Outpatient Treatment care can be individualized to meet the needs, motivations, and personality of each participant, based on a collaborative treatment approach.

Through evidence-based services, the clinicians of JourneyPure Louisville treat patients and their families with a holistic range of recovery support. Our personalized approach goes beyond addressing the usual symptoms of addiction to treat the causes behind the addiction. To support our patients after treatment, we provide a free digital care plan accessible on our JourneyPure Coaching™ app. JourneyPure Coaching™ helps users maintain a healthy lifestyle with an emphasis on nutrition, sleep, and exercise.

Specializing in treating individuals suffering from co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorder, we recognize that many if not most people can be treated effectively and efficiently on a purely outpatient basis—provided that the outpatient care is superior.

Our outpatient centers reinforce our commitment to the long-term recovery of our patients by providing a full continuum of services to support each patient’s individual needs.

More About JourneyPure

JourneyPure is a behavioral healthcare company with multiple outpatient centers across the southeast. We set the standard in addiction treatment, with highly trained clinicians providing a range of support for lasting recovery. This includes our JourneyPure Coaching™ app, which provides free one-on-one relapse recovery support for a minimum of one year.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Outpatient Programs (OP) provide a less intensive addiction treatment experience than residential treatment or partial hospitalization programs (PHP) while still offering structured, effective care. Designed to provide greater freedom and personal responsibility, such as allowing for work or school attendance, IOP can often be a crucial step in the recovery process, whether it’s for those just coming out of a 30-day stay at a residential treatment facility or those looking for a flexible alternative to residential treatment.

Our holistic array of services is focused on healing the patient’s mind, body, and spirit. This makes JourneyPure Louisville the perfect choice for those in need of comprehensive addiction and mental health treatment without the cost of a 30-day or 60-day residential treatment program. Boasting a small staff-to-patient ratio, we provide a safe, caring, and therapeutic environment for those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. Each patient and his or her family receives a customized, individualized, and patient-centered treatment program promoting long-term recovery and providing the tools necessary to build drug-free lives.
